Right now my car has been washed and has a coat of cleaner wax on. Is it okay if I claybar the car now as is even though I didn't "prep" it?
It's not a wax or a polish, so I don't think it would matter what stage I apply it, right?
Also, do I really have to wash the car with dish detergent before a serious waxing session since I'm going to use clay? Doesn't clay pretty much do they same thing as the dish soap?

samwy has it down. No need to dishwash if you claybar your
car completely. Some people like to dishwash after the claybar
to remove the detailer spray.

wash (meguires gold class)
clay (clay magic)
wash (meguires again i would not use dish washer soap on my car)
polish (autoglym polish cleaner)
wax (autoglym liquid wax)
use micro fiber towles for taking wax/polish off and use micro fiber wax applicators for applying they will not produce swirl marks. becarefull with scrach removers they can cause more damage than good, they are for scratches and dont really help with swril marks. one last thing always use a clean mf towel for each product

When using micro fiber towels tear off the tags on the towels. They can scratch.
