Even though I'm not towing anything, I had the OEM Subaru hitch wiring harness laying around and decided to hook it up. May be towing a ski in the future.

B/T NASIOC and Scoobymods I was able to grab all the wires I needed to splice in to the Subaru converter (STi's don't have the 6 pin factory connector).

EXCEPT for the red power wire, not sure what to use in the trunk area for the 12 volt power, don't won't to run all the way to the battery for this one.

Right now I have grabbed a Green/Yellow wire off the R145 connector for the Water Spray Motor, this seems to have 12 volts with the IGN ON, and nothing with it off... is this going to work or do a I need a better different source??

Thanks.

I installed the factory Subaru hitch tonight and the hardest part of the install was trying to find the electrical connector that doesn't exist. Are STi's not pre-wired with this 6 pin connector? Can you point me in the right directions which color wires are for what? Thanks.

Nevermind, I found it! :)

Edit: Wired it up tonight. Blue and red were switched from the link above, at least for a 04 STi.
Trailer hitch harness:
1) Blue - 12V
2) Red - Brake light
3) White - Ground
4) Yellow - Left turn signal
5) Green - Right turn signal
6) Brown - Taillights

I just had the Subaru hitch installed on my '05 STi and my dealer found there are no wires for the hitch on the STi. They also informed me that splicing into any wires will VOID my warranty!!!!! Subaru really are A-holes with the waranty. Any suggestions on how to install the wiring to make it reversable and undetectable?

Scotchlocs can be removed and what's left is virtually undetectable.
Due to the meagre wiring in Subaru's, I would advise using an isolating relay pack as is suggested for cars with bulb failure warning. These are now easily available in UK. Probably in US too.
