Did a search, on here and in google. I know this has been done, but can not find them. what is involved if I order the USDM STI HID headlights? thank you.

I would ask the vendor that sells them thwe same question you just asked. They should include everything from the ballasts to the bulb, but as for connecting them to your existing headlight wiring you're probably going to be on your own

I did this in my wagon. How hard it is really depends on two things... One, do you want the leveling switch and Two, do you mind cutting wires.

Adding the leveling switch makes it a more involved install... you'll have to run wires and all kinds of fun, but it's not that hard.

If you just want the lights and don't mind cutting wires, you can do it in half an hour... it's just two wires per light, and pulling the DRL module. Really easy.

Like skivvie said, the basic install without the leveling switch is fairly easy. I posted a write-up on the installation a while back - search on my posts and you will find it. The light assemblies will have everything else that you need (bulbs, ballasts, etc.). I ordered the following 2004 STi headlight assemblies (complete):84001FE500, 84001FE510.

for those of you who have done this, is the "flash to pass" mod on scoobymods necessary for the STI HID install? it doesnt seem like it should really matter. am i wrong?

That's a good question. I haven't even tested mine yet... I'll try and remember to do it tonight.

It's not necessary, but if you flash-to-pass your HID low beams will come on along with the high beams. It's my understanding that rapid cycling of the HIDs is not good for them.

I just built a set of wiring adapters to put 2004 HID in a 2004 WRX... Factory plugs were used to make it truly plug-and-play for the H1.

Could you make me one? :D
Are you going to sell them or make instructions available? I'd be appreciative either way.

you mean instructions on how to make the harnesses? I think this includes buying a full engine bay harness to do so

I have the 04 JDM STI HIDs ready to install in a friend's WRX and am trying to source the parts for the HIDs to be plug and play. Sorry to cross post, but I really need some help. I think I found a source outside of the country. DOes anyone have one inside the country?

I can post pics when it is finished.

I've got another 1500 dollars worth of connectors here waiting for orders to be placed to make this 2004-2004HID plug and play.

Harnesses built this weekend (I'm on the road for work).

OH, BTW, I'm the only person in North America that has ever bought these parts.
Mfr tells me he's only sold to the motor companies before... so I guess I'm iit!

Nivek = Kevin.

I'm on the road until Friday.

If I say I'm going to do something, I usually do.... so I don't know what happened there.

Send ME an email and I'll work with it tonight. I'm busy with documentation for work that has to be done by 3pm my time.

Thanks.
