Are the sti front and rear axles the same?

Do i have to use the brembo brakes and sti hubs for the front/rear (there included in the ej207/6-speed package)? Will it work without them (wrx/RS brakes, RS hub). Im assuming sti axles only fit into r180 and into 6-speed, not into r160 and 5-speed, thus u would need sti hub if ur using sti axles?

Do ver.7 and ver.8 RA engines only come with DCCD 6-speeds?

Wiring(dun, dun dun dun):p

Putting a GDB engine into a CG8 chassis is harder than into a us wrx i assume. If i have the right sti wiring harness for the motor, what will i do? Unhook the entire RS engine harness and replace it with sti harness. Then Hook everything up that needs to be hooked up(putting together, installing all the connectors that go together) like the maf, front O2, stuff like that. On the engine side. Then with the other side of the harness that is not connectors, this is the part that gets messy? I tap, solder, and join the other end of the sti engine harness to the RS cabin/dash harness? I find a wiring diagram and find out which wires i need to connect to what. Is this how i do it? Please no flame, this is a very hard part and im trying to get as much info and do as much research as possible so i dont run into this blindly.

Thanks

front axles are same...you can use either WRX or STi maybe even RS.

Rear STi axles must be used with R180 and STi hubs/brakes

All version 8's come with DCCD standard. It is an option to opt out. Some ver7 come with DCCD most do not.

I would think you should replace both the engine harness and chassis harness. That would be simplist in the RS.

My harness was weaved togetherusing the full v7 harness and keeping part of my TS harness. Just the essentials were used (i.e., AVCS, MAF, O2 sensor, etc.). The interior elec. and lighting is the stock TS wiring. I did not do the swap, BTW... but I saw it in progress. It's nice to leave the dirty work to someone else :D

hrmm so marry the rs bulkhead and sti engine harness or get a complete sti engine/bulk harness? Which would be easier? Im thinking while im still driving the car now, i could pull the dash and ID and tag the wires ill have to solder so when i start it will be easier. Or will replace the whole wiring harness with sti one be easier?

Rather than guessing get the proper diagrams that will be needed for the swap. You'll need the diagram for the RS and for the V7. You will want to marry the WRX harness into the RS harness in the area behind the glovebox. Read Stimpy's post at the top of the forum, it is very well documented. If you do all your homework you should be able to do all the wiring in one weekend. Maybe even less. Labeling the wires that need to be cut/used is gonna take you about 30 minutes once the dash is out so there is no real reason to pull the dash beforehand.

Dccd is NOT standard on the version 8 sti. I think it is an option on the ra, but it doesn't come standard on the sti, you get it in a package with quick steering and a few other things.
If you're putting it in a wrx, then it's really, really easy. All you have to do it move some wires around and i think add a couple with sheilded wires.
Search is your best friend here.
If you're putting it in a older impreza that wasn't a turbo, then you'll have to integrate the two harnesses together to make one happy harness. This can (will) be a pain in the a s s. I know, i'm in the middle of it. I've given up for a while, and i'll be back at it here pretty quick.

ok so where do i start now. I need a wiring digram for a 99 RS and for a V.7 STi and i find out where i would tap and solder the wires? In general what are the main wires i would be tapping into the RS bulkhead harness from a sti harness with? Wires for sensors, stuff like o2 sensors and avcs and what. Where can i get a wiring diagram at? Im very clueless on the wiring aspect of the swap, mechanical part i have down. And please no flame either im posting so i can learn.
