I'm doing an EJ20G swap and using the 4.11 rear diff. we've been trying to use the impreza L axles for the rear and it doesn't look like its going to work.

Would it work how would I do so?

would LSD RS rear axles work? what axles would I need besides the ovious jdm ones.

or be able to use

are the axles for the impreza L's different from year to year from lets say a 00 RS and 00 impreza L?

You need LSD rear axles. There is a difference between LSD and non-LSD axles. 00-01 RS parts will work. Possibly WRX wagon too, but not certain on those.

*school in session*
let me guess the L diff has innie output shafts

some LSD R-160s have outtie output shafts
some don't

some open R-160 LSD have inne shafts
some don't

you have two options
take your two diffs to some one who will work with them and have them swap over the diff itself

or go the the junk yard and find rear axels from a car that has an outtie style rear diff 90-99 legacys, all the foresters any impreza

befor you spend the $$ make sure that the diff you are putting in IS for sure a LSD, not open (made this mistake once already)

the longer axel goes on the right side *i believe*

oh and FWIW my 93 L is a 4.11 not a 3.90 so you may be good to go already

If the 4.11 is anything like the 3.90, it should say on the casing 'Viscuous LSD'.
