Spoolin16PSI 04-16-2004, 03:15 AM IMO yes file_id 04-16-2004, 03:59 AM The 2004s have the altezza style lights. Argonaut 04-16-2004, 09:54 AM really...the Jag style? mbiker97 04-16-2004, 10:49 AM I dig the Jag style lights. If I ever rearend something that insurance won't cover I would consider them. Otherwise I'm not spending money for different tail lights. JIN 04-16-2004, 11:37 AM Hmm, you talking about the dark tinted ones or the bright reflective ones? In any case, I would stick to the stock ones, they look lots nicer though. Subjectivities aside, you should consider eBay if you want those for significantly less than 300. Here's one example: http://images.andale.com/f2/101/100/13900293/click2enlarge/1074823537753_LTL_SWRX02J_A.jpg im imprezd 04-16-2004, 02:22 PM not to hijack but i have some forsale for 50 bucks!!:D ..nothin wrong w/ them at all..if any of you guys are interested..PM me..alright back to topic..yea jag tails are nice..looks just like the 04's but 02-03 style:) brunetmj 04-16-2004, 10:06 PM Forget the rice part and do what you think looks the best. The problem with Altezza's is often they are poorly made and in fact can leak water into your trunk. Forensiks 04-16-2004, 11:54 PM stock stock stock.........sleeper status is the way ta go! in my book, don't get altezza unless its the real "altezza" (lexus IS300) it8ezbngrn 04-17-2004, 03:36 AM I would go 2004 style if you want that "clear" look. Altezza are rice, although I do like the way those ones look but I have worked for a shop that sold these kinda lights for years and they are just crap. So I would avoid them. redwagon 04-17-2004, 06:02 AM R1C3 WanganRunner 04-17-2004, 02:03 PM And honestly, if I had a "real" Altezza, I'd probably put different lights on it, either blacked-out stockers or paint it so both on each side are circles, a la GT-R. 2004 WRX tails need no changes, they are the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega. If you can't tell, I like my tail lights:D brunetmj 04-18-2004, 12:12 AM 2004 WRX tails need no changes, they are the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega. I agree with that. However the 02 tailights never measured up in my book. They were very plain. But all in the eye of the beholder. collegedropout 04-18-2004, 02:07 AM uncle bens straight up satrya 04-18-2004, 02:21 AM I'm with brunetmj; do what you think is best for your car. You'll always find opinions for and against whatever you want to do. As long as it is legal, safe, and you're happy; that's all that matters imho. Originally posted by brunetmj However the 02 tailights never measured up in my book. They were very plain. But all in the eye of the beholder. I agree with you, imho the my2002 tail light could be designed a bit better. My biggest gripe with the my2002-2003 GD tail light is the illumination level of the reverse lights. Perhaps there is a state / region somewhere in the world that resulted in this design, but at least afaik, the California Vehicle Code (Link to the CVC on reverse lights (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc24606.htm) ) doesn't have anything against a brighter reverse light that doesn't blind others. I suspect other states in the US probably has a similar requirement. Backing up in dark places could be made safer with better reverse lights. Recently, I compared the oem my2002 tail light with one of the "euro" style taillights, with clear lens. Given identical oem reverse bulbs (21W iirc), the clear lens + reflector combination in the "euro" taillight seem to light up better than the oem. I haven't compared neither with the oem my2004, but the reverse lights in the my2004 model is probably similar to the euro ones. |
