I've been thinking about taking all my stock parts from my rex and installing them on my commuter car. This would essentially be, injectors, intercooler, exhaust, boost controller and turbo. Anyone actually do this, they would go onto a 91 legacy lsi auto/manual trans non-turbo as of right now. I can't think of anything else I would have to put on other then that stuff for it to run safely. I would like to here everyones thoughts on doing this, advice will be greatly appreciated from anyone who has succesfully done this. I'm also assuming everything will bold right up as well.

Everything will bolt right up, but it's not quite that simple.

First off, your injectors won't work. Your WRX injectors are topfed and the Legacy injectors are sidefed. I would also suggest a fuel pump and some engine management. The simplest management for the Legacy would either be an Apexi SAFC or Greddy Emanage.

Your intercooler will fit, but with much persuasion. I'd suggest to trim back the part that mates to the throttle body. Also, the Y-pipe has to be extended then to fit in there.

You can use all of your stock exhaust, including the exhaust manifold and uppipe, but that will leave you with a problem. That problem would be your intake. Sitting everything on stock exhaust places your turbo very close to the intake manifold, and it doesn't work to run your intake under the manifold like on the WRX. I've managed to run a kit on my car made completely out of stock WRX parts and managed to fabricate and intake setup.

If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'm always glad to help out.

Ok, so no injector swap, what about just running at like 10psi, no engine mangement, and modify the stock intake as you said to mate up with the turbo. I was actually thinking about modifying the stock intercooler to work as a front mount b/c the hood has no scoop to feed it. I basically just want to bolt everything up and drive, so I guess the basic question to ask is, will the engine blow or be fine if the boost levels are keep with in reason. I can replace the fuel pump with my stock one to help get more fuel.

To answer your question: yes, you're engine will blow. Anything over 5-6 psi requires your timing to be changed. Also the EJ22 block is not a very strong block at all. You could modify the intercooler to be front mount, but the lag would be very significant and the efficiency would come into question.
