yes yes yes, I've read and have replied to most of the RWD conversion thread already.
I picked up a MY91/MY92 Legacy center diff off a manual tranny. Since the final drive for the manual tranny is 4.111, does that make the center diff from the Legacy any different from my MY99 Impreza?
Come to think of it, I should have taken that tranny instead of just the center diff, 4.111 along with the rear diff... eh, no money...would have cost about $100 only....
the center diff has no ratio
the wrx and the svx have a 1 to 1.1 output ratio but nothing else

I worry about the fitting of the shafts to the center diff. Asumming the Impreza tranny is still based off the MY92 Legacy, I should be fine, unless someone can confirm that the inputs and output shafts to the center diff is different.

the trannys changed in 96 just to let you know...the shifter did atleast but not sure about the center diff. This is why I'm converting to the newer drivetrain. I can't find any LSDs for mine:(

acutally they switched the body style in 95. so i believe that is the year the shifter changed. but i could be wrong.

Okies! The center diff on this MY92 Legacy is different.
They say the STi Version 5-6 uses a different type of center diff. the one I have (MY91 Leg) looks like this

I'm unsure if they carried it throughout the subaru's in the US and did the sealed one for the STi's and WRX's only.

I'm unsure where to weld....

Micah, you have a 3.90(?) diff ratio, right? They're on the Legacy turbo and SVX.

SVX only has the auto, it does not have a 1:1 ratio. Final drive is an actual 3.54 on front and rear.

Unsure where to weld. The vicous unit looks like it's impossible to weld. Might have to weld near the pinion gear on the viscous housing.

I'd keep my car if I could make it RWD. ej20g w/ rwd would be fun. Plus its under AWD, so i would stay off the cali. dyno tests.
