Discount tires.
If you don't have a local shop, you can order from tires.com (http://www.tires.com)
I think they also offer free shipping.

Are there is any national stores (like Sear, Costco, etc.) that sell them, so that I can avoid shipping charges and perhaps get a free mounting?

www.tires.com == Discount Tire, so yes if you have one of those local, they should be able to order them up and you'll get the usual mounting and balancing service. Some stores vary on their policy of covering the extra shipping charges though.

You can order them at Sears where I'm at, but you will end up paying for shipping one way or the other.

I got a set from Vulcan Tire and have no complaints.
