hey all,
well, just over 26k miles on my 01 RS sports coupe and the stock tires definitely getting low on tread. need some opinions on what are the best tires. wheels/suspension, etc, all stock (see http://homepage.mac.com/kstiggger/PhotoAlbum37.html for some pics of car). would like to upgrade/paint wheels eventually, but have to stick w/ stock wheels for now. live in southern CA, and would like all season tires, just enough for rain (not worried about ice/snow in this area) through dry/regular weather. want all season, quiet tires, better traction and ride than stock, longer wear, etc, overall better tires than stock, my driving style varies from spirited to average. have heard yoko's are good, but don't last as long and get louder as they wear? looking for better tires, but need to stay in decent price range. thnx.

What are you looking for out of your tires? Are you willing to sacrifice noise, and or longevity for maximuim performance? Or is a smooth ride, and quite operation your cup of tea?

There are countless tires on the market, find one that suits your driving style.

" SEARCH " is your friend. I would go with ContinentalContiExtremes.

i would rather have the quiet and comfort, as long as they last at least as long as the stockers. the "search" did not help me find what i'm looking for in this case. what are the continentals like? better than yoko's? thnx.

The yokos es100 definately get louder with age. I have a set that that has about 17k mi on them and I drive about 100mi a day. They got much louder with age, with a noticeable howl at speed. Pluses....they grip pretty good (wet and dry), look pretty nice, last pretty well (in normal driving). Cons....they howl pretty good.

I hear that other tires have surpassed the yoko as far as price/performance. One tire that I am interested in are the falken azenis ST115. Supposedly a quiet performance tire...
