dman918 04-20-2004, 04:02 PM Are there any fitment issues with the downpipe in conjunction with a STi tranny?

There is actually a short movie on the exhaust page of the website that you can download. It is with the turboback with high flow cat. Still sounds good.

Cheveyboy 04-20-2004, 04:20 PM For the down pipe, is there any bung for stock O2 sensor. If there is, is it before or after the cat. And if it is after that call will that prevent this Downpipe from throwing a CEL for cat ineficiancy? Thanks for any info !
dankjeweler 04-20-2004, 09:54 PM will the down pipe fit the blitz cat back

migs76 04-21-2004, 03:36 PM i'm sure it's too early to tell but does this catback have any fitment issues with the helix downpipe?
edit - fuhgeddaboudit...ordering now!
capaWRX 04-21-2004, 04:11 PM whats up frank - it's Dave with the black STi that looks nice as hell on the site.. :D

AutoSpeedPerformance 04-21-2004, 04:55 PM Hey Guys,
Sorry for the delay in response, we have been going crazy in the shop!
1. There are no known fitment issues regarding the downpipe with the STi Tranny, or catback.
2. We do include an O2 bung AFTER the high flow cat rated for emissions testing up to 3.8L, in-house testing shows that a CEL will not be thrown but we can not guarantee that based on the exact state of your cars tune. ie. if you are using engine management software and are running rich you may throw a CEL.
3. As with all of our exhaust components, if your current hardware does or is supposed to mate up to the stock downpipe or catback, then our units are guaranteed to fit with no problems or leakage issues. We obviously can not control other product fitments, I can tell you ours fit perfectly to stock or to each other!
4. Hey Dave, looking forward to getting you back in to install this puppy!
Hope this helps to answer some of your questions. Please do not hesitate to ask us questions or simply would like additional info, we are here to help!
Regards,
Mark

Sure do. We have a full shop with enough equipment to do just about anything you could think of.
PM or emial me if you are interested.
Thanks,

stevedood 04-21-2004, 08:35 PM So from what you said earlier...
Does the DownPipe use a donut-flange connector?
(like the stock WRX downpipe)
edkwon 04-21-2004, 08:49 PM Do you sell the axle-back alone and will it fit in the location of the stock axle-back?
Ed
AutoSpeedWRX 04-21-2004, 09:48 PM stevedood: Downpipe and cat-back both use a standard 3"
flange and gasket. but they have no problems
sealing to the factory parts if thats what you are
getting at.
edkwon: Units are only sold as cat-back. the system was
designed to work with itself so it will not work as an
axel-back.

MustGoFast 04-22-2004, 02:27 PM Hmm... looks gorgeous, love the autospeed brand but how loud... that would be the $599 question.
QuickSilverSTi 04-22-2004, 02:33 PM what is the cat made of?

The short video on the webpage is the best i can do to represent the sound. I love it, not too loud, but just the right tone.
what is the cat made of?
The Cat is Ceramic with a stainless steel mesh surrounding
dbenyaacov 04-23-2004, 12:28 AM Autospeed Performance,
Are you planning on creating more sound clips? I'm very much interested in hearing the turboback. I'd also like to hear the turboback + uppipe.
Are you planning on posting some dyno results? (something like (0) stock WRX (1) cat-back only (2) turboback (3) turboback + up-pipe (4) more configurations, like your intercooler, ultralight pulley, etc.)
Have you done any testing that you'd like to tell us about (before/after 1/4 mile times, Gtech-pro-comp accelerometer measurements, etc.)
I really would appreciate this information. I'm very much interested in buying the turboback, by the way.
David
AutoSpeedPerformance 04-23-2004, 09:43 AM dbenyaacov:
Ok lets see if I can answer all of your questions, I will do my best.
First off the car in the video is mine, on the car during the filming of it is our cat-less up-pipe and turboback with high flow cat. We will be taking a soundclip soon of just the cat-back. If there is something more specific you would like let me know.
Performance measurements will be taken, but when I will not be able to say exactly. My car is way to far past stock to do these tests on, but we will do our best to get these tests done relatively soon. I will will try and get some dyno numbers in an order somewhat like you posted.
Again with the 1/4 mile etc. tests my car hasnt been stock for a long long time so it wont be a good test platform, but again I will work on getting these results for you.
Hope this answers some of your questions. But I will work on getting all the test results.
Thanks Again

sireatalot 05-04-2004, 01:06 AM what's the decibel level on these guys?
ED_04WRX 05-04-2004, 03:21 AM what kind of warranty do u offer with the turboback? Lifetime or 5 years or something? thanks in advance.
AutoSpeedPerformance 05-05-2004, 09:36 PM Sorry for the delay it has been a little crazy over here.
As far as warranty goes, we are covering our systems with a limited lifetime warranty on manufacturers defects. Things not covered would be problems caused by abuse to the system.
Still awaiting the sound level test, will try to have it asap.
Thanks for all the interest and purchases.

Zornorph 05-06-2004, 11:00 PM I don't want to sound dense, but I didn't hear it spelled out - will this catted downpipe bolt to a stock STI exhaust system?
If so, I want one...

migs76 05-08-2004, 06:10 PM just got home from autospeed hq. i had their sahweet catback installed by frank and mark. what a lovely drive home it was! welds are top notch. there was a small fitment issue but i'm positive that my car was just a one time incident. after some quick adjustments they had it fit just right. both reassured me that fitment went perfect on other 02/03's and sti's. kudos to both frank and mark for a great product and first class customer service!
p.s. the hat was a small/medium and too small for my dome.
AutoSpeedWRX 05-10-2004, 12:20 AM Thanks for the review, glad you like it.
Ill check if we have hats in another size and i let ya know.
Frank
AutoSpeedPerformance 05-15-2004, 04:56 PM For those that were wondering we confirmed today that the catback will fit with the factory rear skirt.

AutoSpeedPerformance 02-08-2006, 02:33 PM Old thread, just figured I would update for people interested.
We have alot goin on here and in the past it has been hard to keep up-to date with Nasioc. Although we have always been operational for the last 5 years whether we were a registered vendor on here or not.
As of September 2005 we finally went full-time after 5 years of part-time operation. I can assure we are still around and will be for a while. All our products are still in production and everything is in stock as well.
As i said i just wanted to update everyone and let you know whats going on.
Thanks
