View Full Version : Why such a big price difference between Tirerack and Discount?

So I'm looking at getting some new rims and maybe some g-force KD's for STX class racing.

However I looked at the prices from Tirerack and Discount and the difference is $60 per tire!!! (Discount being the more expensive)

How can this be? Does the discount price include mounting and everything at a discount tire store or something?

***?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :furious:

tirerack is a NASIOC sponsor;)
dont know why the price difference, but it goes on with the parts for cars as well. one shop will sell a whiteline swaybar for $149, and another will sell the same bar for $189. I guess it all has to do with how much one buys of that particular product. The more a company buys, the cheaper deal they can get and pass on the savings to you.

Yes.

Lifetime rotation and balancing. The highest other places charge is like $25 per tire, so if the difference is $60 per tire, go ahead and get it through Tire Rack.

Yeah,

I bought some Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S from Luke and all in all I saved $15 @ Tirerack over Discount. Too bad they don't carry Azenis.

It is only $9 per tire before adding shipping according to me. Then after shipping Tire Rack was on $4.60 cheaper. I have no idea what you were looking at to come up with a $60 dollar difference per tire.

For one thing I'm looking at 245/40-17 KD's

The math is easy. Discount is $245 per tire, Tirerack is $186 per tire, a difference of $59. What about that is so difficult?

Didn't realize you were running that size tire mang. That's a pretty good price then.

If you have a local Discount tire they will often match the prices of online vendors.
