First off, i assume the EJ20 swap can be done on a 2002 RS even though it is mainly talked about for the earlier ones. am i correct?

second, if the swap is done using the stock tranny, does it have to be converted to pull type clutch? or can it stay push type (obviously a push type pressure plate would then have to be used)?

Third, is there any actual advantage to doing this swap over actually getting a wrx? (though i dont think thats really an option since i already have the RS :( )

I had thought about turboing my RS motor but i have heard that the 2002 RS's dont seem to like boost all that much, so im just kinda seeing what my options are and if its even worth doing anything to it at all.

thanks

all EJ series motors are interchangeable.

you can use your stock tranny, not really sure what your asking about the clutch. but you might want to put in a new one.

it would be easyer to just sell your car and get a wrx, but your insureance will go up too.

check out these guys. about 8 grand and your swaped.

1 yes

2 clutch is dependant on the transmission not the engine you would need a stiffer push clutch

3 zero , it will be more expensive and the car is narrower by 20cm

i thought the body/frame itself was the same.. where does it lose a whole 20cm?

a-arms
the RS has the wagon front fenders (no blister)

as far as i can tell my car looks exactly like a wrx sedan (including flared fenders) minus side skirts, spoiler, hoodscoop.

all the searches i have done list the track of the wrx and the 2.5 rs as the same.

the only thing i have found is that the wagon has a 20 MM narrower track. 20 CM is 8 inches...that would be quite a noticable difference i would think..

im not trying to be a smart ass here.. im just confused and i want to figure out what is right:confused:
