Looking for an Sti FMIC that will give no lag increase and no pressre drop, I am a little concerned about the length of tubing required to plumb the intercooler and the resulting shift in powerband.

Essentially I am looking for an intercooler that behaves just like the oem but is more efficient due to more surface area being exposed to air and will allow me to do away with the gigantic hoodscoop

Damn, does that mean you aren't happy with it nick??

Yes it will fit an STI, I don't know what exactly needs to be changed. I imagine the bolt holes in the APS bumper beam will need to be drilled in diferent locations. I wouldn't think there would be major changes though. Especially considering the STI doesn't come with foglights. THere is all kinds of room behind the stock STI bumper.

BALTIC.......

If you want the absolute shortest piping from IC to TB....listen carefully now...

Unbolt the stock intake manifold...
Remove your AC compressor...
Flip the intake manifold 180 degrees and bolt it on...
Custom make a few pipes...
Enjoy less lag...

I have seen it done on a 02 WRX and it works beautifally.

Other then that...I think that Perrin FMIC's run a little smaller diameter pipe then the APS. That "might" make it spool a little quicker.

(I had the APS DR500, on a stock td04. I think the tradeoff of lag/high RPM hp was very acceptable.)
