Wats up?
I have noticed that most of the ProRally cars run on tarmac tires on Pikes Peak. Why? And what kind of tarmac tires?

their is a section of tarmac on Pikes. However the majority is gravel, now to go one further the gravel is very clean from the amount of race traffic it gets. maybe cuz it's a cleaned surface.

The usually spray a "traction promoter" prior to the race which essentially makes the hard pack dirt like tarmac on the lower sections.
Mind you that they are heavily cut tarmac tires to channel the loose bits up near Boulder Park.
