STI people and 2004 + owners. Need your help and response. Anyone who is mildly interested, I strongly encourage you to respond!

Gathering INterest:

I am trying to gauge an interest in this product. So far, the response has been low. Stainless pricing is rising - so I am trying to justify development/mfg. If there is less than 20 or so people interested, ROI on the product falls flat.

So, anyone wanting one, please spread the word. Need to know your model car. WRX or STI.

2004 WRX owner with JDM Ver. 7 STi Intercooler..........interested! :)

I wouldn't mind being a crash test dummy either! Not that there is a big market for us Ver. 7 owners, but I'll help out if I can.

Not sure why the interest isn't there, the concept is sound and the pics of the product (for the oem ic) look flawless. I think it will take a recognition on the v8 owners that shedding underhood heat will be beneficial w/ no downside.

My guess is there isn't too many of the v7 guys w/ STi IC's, it might be worth looking into how similar (or dissimilar) the other aftermarket TMIC's are to the STi one. It's possible that a chimney designed for the STi intercooler may fit more than just the STi one. If that was the case there might be more interest as there are quite a few folks w/ upgraded TMIC's.

Sorry to hear stainless steel is going up, doesn't seem like much going down these days.

Thanks to those who have responded so far. Appears there is some demand, but not the crazy demand we had for the 03/02 versions. I will need to talk with manufacturing to get a better grip on pricing/cost.

I'm interested... 04 WRX, and I already can see the heat come out of that side of the hood scoop... and I know some of it is hitting the IC!

Looks like this is a go afterall! I will get this thing moving with our prototype (fitting a car this weekend). We should have production versions ready in about a month if everything goes smoothly. Keep your fingers crossed on stainless steel prices to hold steady - they've already skyrocketed!

What is a chimney heatshield? (yeah, yeah, I'm the new guy.) Anybody have any links to something similar? If it's something to keep the heat off the IC, I'd definately be a go. '04 STi.
