...and host them on a slower server too...

hehe. Nice clean install. Gotta love the P9.
Are those kicks sealed, vented into the carpet, or ported outside the car?

i like the sub enclosures.... were did you get them? were they custom made?

Are the pics slow for you guys? They are fast for me (no they aren't on cable or dsl, but on a friend's server with probably only a shared T1 to it) And did you want me to post the full res 2272x1704 images? lol

Redwagon - the kicks have about a 2-3" hole cut out in the back for the wires and to be vented to the carpet. I also stuffed a little bit of polyfil around the edges in the kickes.

ProdriveRex - A local shop made them for me. I cut out the trunk trim so the enclosures could go farther back too.

I have e12k in a sealed enclosure too. How much air does your box displace (Volume), and how does the sub sound it it?

Jakezor

elijah25rs - yes the kick pods and the sub pods were made by a shop, I did the rest.

il96, mine are O series 10", I think the enclosure is a little over 1 cube, and each is getting 300W or so. I don't need much from the subs just 50Hz and down, since I added the midbass speakers.

the kick pods look like they would be annoying and in the way... everything else is CLEAN

Trunk looks beautiful, but I can't believe you put a kickpanel that close to your clutch. Did you have to tear out the foot rest?

very nice, gotta love the P9s

I'm a big fan of the subs too, I have a ported 12A in my car ;)

wow you have a nice setup

im gonna be honest and go out on a limb and say that im not feelin the sub protectors. at first i thought it was coathanger wire. it really looks out of place and cheap, especially with that beautiful setup.

Jakezor

Yes the foot rest is gone, otherwise the driver side is impossible to fit a speaker there. I only have size 11 shoes, the kicks I have probably won't work with any of you guys that wear size 14 or bigger clown shoes  j/k.

The "grills" are 3/8" brake line bent and tig welded then painted body color. They stop **** from hitting the subs (for USACi compliance) but I need to make it so you can't "touch" the sub. I think I am going to put grill cloth over them so you won't even see the sub. The hard part is I can't use any stock type of grill because it is a complex curve that the mounting rings are part of. Nothing lines up in any direction. I'd like to get some thing out of brushed aluminum stock, but that would be cash I don't have yet.

Jakezor, where did you buy that "WRX Impreza" piece that goes in the DIN slot above the stereo?

Jakezor
04-24-2004, 12:46 PM
I made it.

Cut a piece of aluminum sheet, then had a favor done, sent someone the WRX Impreza logo (http://logos.subaru.com) and had a vinyl decal cut.

i too say those kickpods must be damn annoying when your trying to drive, i can imagine it getting thrashed in time by constant clutch action. Why not mount the tweeters(is that all that is in them?) that are in the pods up in the dash and reflect off the front window, you want stereo seperation that bad? Other than that, looks good man..

VERY nicely done. 2 thumbs up.:disco:

Jakezor
04-24-2004, 10:55 PM
Again, unless you wear clown shoes or just stab your foot forward on shifts, it isn't a problem.

Dash tweeters don't work all the time, the reflections can be horrible to tame if you don't take plenty of time to aim them correctly. And yes I wanted to compete with my stereo (and have).

I have the mid range ED subs, the O series, IIRC they were 20-25 each in the shipping box. I cannot remember the exact number.

Haha jojor512, if you know where I live based on that pic you drive through my town quite frequently! lol

Did all that dynamat fix your trunk rattle?

What have you done to the doors to get the rattle out and improve mid/low bass response? I have a set of 6.5 mids in there and they are barely better than stock due to the poor mounting offered by the stock door.
