I'm an engineer that modifies & tunes
turbo cars as a hobby. My two toys are
a 94 RX7 & 95 Eclipse GSX. I'm using DSMLink in the Eclipse & love the product. The RX7 uses an M2 factory remap for my mods.
I'm trying to get some tech info on the UTEC from some of you guys that have it.
I have an 04 reflashed STi as my daily driver & am not gotting to mod it much past a either a catback or TBE & some type of engine management.
Here are my questions:
1) I have a SECS PSI unit and was wondering if the UTEC modifies any of the OBDII output stream which would result in incorrect data displayed on the monitor.
2) It talks about programming with a laptop. The way I do it know is by plugging a special cable into the OBDII port and then in to the 9-pin serial port on my laptop. How's this done w/ UTEC?
3) They talk about switching between up to 5 maps w/ a switch. Does this switch come w/ the unit & where do you mount it.?
4) To adjust fueling, I presently use a global slider to pull fuel say -38% for bigger injectors (450's vs 660's) and then use individual sliders @ specific rpm points for open loop control. Ignition control is done the same way, only obviously there isn't any global adjustment.
5) The datalogging & graphing features in DSMLink are pretty good esp considering the price whats it like on the UTEC.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated:p
