T-WRX 04-25-2004, 10:11 AM a very small turbo.
inchoate 04-25-2004, 11:36 AM I think you should be able to identify a turbo before you buy it.

Ok so what is it? It looks to have a IHI Comp cover.. What is it? Vf22?
Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 01:42 PM it does have IHI Comp cover it..no not a vf22..
finger123 04-25-2004, 01:42 PM the turbo you are asking about is posted on Ebay. its a port and polished, black extreme coated IHI VF39. currently being auctioned on ebay by deadbolt for a buy it now of 999.90.

Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 01:43 PM he's close but its not that one either..its different, but how lol
cronic 04-25-2004, 01:49 PM Coated 1820?vf34?
Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 01:52 PM nope
AustinTexas 04-25-2004, 02:25 PM Who cares? If it's anything that's made from any part of any turbo that is VF series it's too small.
Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 02:28 PM aright i guess no one is getting it..its a vf39 but with a bigger wheel..its from deadbolt..but i don't know much infor on the wheel. This turbo should be good for my set up..looking for around 350 to the wheels and a fast spooling turbo..what you guys think..
cronic 04-25-2004, 02:50 PM Why would you use the vf39 and its smaller hotside for this? From what i have read the 39 uses the p18(i have also read p17) but either way it is the smaller turbine side.. You should have had him make this with a vf22 since you get the p20.. You more or less have a 1818(or1817:p ) I know kingpin offered upgrades which were the equivelent of PE's turbos but for a lot less.
Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 03:10 PM i wanted a turbo that would be great for an everday car...vf39 was great on spool up time.. i didn't want to lose that..but i didn't want it to die out in the high rpms.. This turbo should work fine atleast thats what i've been told ..
davidm_sh 04-25-2004, 03:58 PM The PE1818 and 1820 compressor wheels have straight edge blades. Those blades are curved slightly. Looks like a 18G or possibly a 20G compressor wheel to me.
Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 04:25 PM ya they told me it was going to be between 18g to a 20g wheel
aworkmon 04-25-2004, 04:39 PM My turbo is there right now. I thought about the bigger wheel, but i'm just going to wait.

Definitely not 400whp-but I think it will be a fun turbo:) Let us know if u dyno it-curious to know how it spools compared to stock. When are u installing it-also let us know if it holds boost to redline or if it still tapers. Good luck!
Stiturbos 04-25-2004, 06:30 PM i'm going to install it proly in 2 months..i'm waiting to get aps fmic headers a turbo back..and Ultimate Racing fuel upgrade..and not sure yet on tuning..utec or ECUTEK reflash .
