So I finished up the Detroit Region SCCA AutoX skool and I'm totally hooked.

It was so damn fun and my instructor was super good. I improved alot from the first run (38 or 39 seconds) to a best of 35.1 (only 0.2 off my instructor's time when he ran my car :D)

Granted we were running in the rain and it cleared up and dried almost completely giving me better times but a slight pressure change and smoother driving got my times way down.

The finish control people were laughing when I got good runs because I was going nuts in my car. :p

Now what can I spend more $$$ on for my car...coilovers??? R-compounds??? Perhaps I'll just concentrate on driving for now.:p

Exactly. Spend the year on working on tuning the nut behind the wheel before you spend $$ on mods. :)

I know. ;) I'm just kidding. I've got a decent starter suspension on my car right now (AGX/Eibach) and need to just be smooth and have fun. :D

The only changes I'll probably do are put on the Grp. N top mounts I've got in a box and then get a more autoX friendly alignment.

Didn't Custer say the same thing??? Look what happened to him.

Atleast for this year, I'll run what I've got and concentrate on driving. My instructor was surprised I could switch from "normal" braking to left foot braking in the middle of my run. It's just normal to me I guess. :p

nah, dont listen to them. :D

Change your tyres to what the winners are using at the very least, no point messing about when you could be winning!

Tires are definately the biggest bang for the buck thing you can ever drop onto the car.

I'm not getting new tyres (John...I spell it correctly and I'm not even a Brit...just an anglophile  ) since I've got new Yokohama AVS ES100s.

I was considering keeping my RS rims and putting some 215/45/16 Azenis on them but I really don't need 3 sets of rims/tyres (17" Rotas, 15" Raceline RL7s w/gravels & in the winter some snows, and a set of 16" RS rims)

How much?

My brother could use some 16's, His 15's won't clearance the new brakes.
