With stock injectors, fuel pump and stock FP, does anyone know what the duty cycle of the injectors are at to make their "safe" numbers?

Also, what are the drawbacks if the numbers are near 100%?

The stage 1s (stock car) have been in the low 90s. The stage 2 cars (turbo back exhaust cars) have been in the high 90 with an occasional car hitting 100%.

The STI is out of injector

What does this statement mean? Also, what are the drawbacks to having your injectors running over 90% duty cycle on a long term basis?

That means the stock injectors are too small. I prefer a slightly slow duty cycle as I like to know that the injector is opening and closing within it's range as opposed to full open.

So, does this mean that the new UTEC for the STI isn't techincally "safe" with the stock injectors/fuel pump?

Would it be wise to modfiy/upgrade injectors/fuel pump before running the UTEC?

I wouldn't say it is unsafe at all. WRXs run very high duty cycles on the stock turbo with stock injectors too. I'm just implying that if you plan on upgrading the turbo, plan on upgrading the injectors too.

So, you don't see any long term or short term side-effects of running at 95-100% injector duty cycle?

Obviously, when you chip your car, it's a given that your going to increase the wear faster than normal.

Just want to make sure that I investigate any pitfalls of engine managment, because you seldom see aftermarket ECU people saying:

"yeah, we're going to be running your turbo out of it's ideal range, run your injectors at 100% duty cycle, and it should cause some damage after 20k miles or so."
