Well I went to the install-fest at Randy's with the sole intention of just helping others and hanging out. It didn't end up that way.

M2 Performance showed up to show off their new exhaust system for WRXs. One of them "jokingly" suggested that they should throw it on one of the WRXs to be a "guinea pig".... well that ended up happening, and I was the very lucky chap that got a brand new exhaust put on my WRX.

Quick info on the exhaust system, 3" from down pipe back, dual tail pipes, single cat.. (I know I am leaving something out, so if others that were there when they were talking about the system could add, I would be grateful)

Installation.... well, it would of been easier in a shop http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif, but it was a direct bolt on. I can't thank the people that helped me get it on enough, but thank you. Randy, I can't believe you "allowed" us there that late, and I owe you BIG.

pj, Its a "turbo back". The dual tail pipe is the muffler I got, and I went with the "legal" mid section (with cat), just in case. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

I could tell you all about how much it pulls stronger, spools up faster, how it sounds better, and how "pretty" it is... its all that, but you will have to see it and hear it yourself. I am going to try to get my friend to take a digital recording of it, then send it to me. The earliest will be late Monday night (if I find a place to post it).

I will leave pricing to M2 Performance, so I won't post anything on it, but I would recommend anyone interested to give them a call (probably Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday). Someone from the install fest should have pics coming of them, and I will work on getting a video of mine.

Any check engine lights? Did you reset the ECU? Any burbling / backfire type stuff?

100% in the clear so far. I think they picked me for "testing" it since I have gone 9000 miles already with no CEL.

I asked about resetting the ECU, and they stated that it shouldn't matter either way, so we didn't.

Nothing but a clean deep (but not overly loud) bass note coming out the rear. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

M2 Performance will be the first to know if anything goes wrong, and I am sure they will be quick to find a solution, but as of yet, I haven't had any. I will talk to them about resetting the ECU more in the future, mainly to figure out if that can be the cause, since they seem determined to find the cause so they can make sure its "bullet proof".

After close to 600 miles, I still have yet to see the CEL go on. I actually drove it very hard a good portion of Sunday and Monday, since I got the chance to play around on some of those nice Merced/Tuolumne County back roads... also was able to do some city driving (which I will do more of during the week), and still haven't seen that light come on...... guess I need more testing http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif, so got to go back out driving http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Wow sounds nice! grats! I thought M2 was a Mazda tuner? They are making WRX stuff now?
Looked at their site but only saw Mazda stuff, or am I thinking of the wrong M2?

Nope, your thinking of the correct company. They are starting to sell items for the WRX now, just haven't updated their website, since I think they are still in R&D with some of the items (don't quote me on that http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif). If your interested in what they have available, give them a call. I am guessing they would be very happy to share anything and everything they have on the table for the WRXs.

If anyone did want to hear, see, or feel this setup in person, I am willing to try to meet with in reasonable distance from Fremont (during one of my lunch breaks). This is if you can't wait till this Saturday, which I should be at the BOZZ "rice"...uh, I mean "The Fast and The Furious" party.

I met up with Philip tonight and checked out the exhaust and got to drive his car too. The sound is nice... deep growl but not very loud. We were standing behind his car talking for a bit with it idling. Though I have not heard the BPM TT in person I would imagine it would be louder because the M2 tips are resonated.

The car spooled up much faster and pulled hard and smoothly all the way to redline. As for looks, it looks pretty close to stock. The tips are bit longer I think. I didn't have my car to compare. I like it because it fits into my plans with keeping the sleeper look.
