PHATsuby 04-29-2004, 05:31 AM do you guys have any of the stock shift knobs available? or any 6MT momo shift knobs?
and if so how much.
thanks
Ben
ScreaminFast 05-03-2004, 12:56 PM do you still have the 6spds in stock?? Also how much do the ring and pinions usually go for?
Oh, and lastly, what exactly does the kit come with, and are any of these with DCCD?
thanks :)
Benjamin Tang 05-04-2004, 05:41 PM bump... same questions as above.
wondering if shipping is available to canada.
and is paypal an option?
rexorama 05-04-2004, 11:09 PM Just exactly what components are needed for a 6 speed swap? I thought i read somewhere that the whole drivetrain would need to be swapped to STI parts. But I've heard of guys running the 6 speed with stock WRX setups, even the rear gears, something about swapping a gear in the tranny maybe? Maybe it was a front dif gear change........... I'm so confused...............
Also, how does the dccd come into play?
Benjamin Tang 05-05-2004, 09:45 AM do a search in the transmission/driveline forum... there are multiple threads on the topic there... too much to repeat.
Gruppe-S 05-06-2004, 04:31 AM PHATsuby - Sorry no extra knobs :(
ScreaminFast - Yes we've still got a few trannies left. Used early 90's Legacy diffs with the 3.9 ring/pinion gears usually go for ~$150-$200 at junkyards. The trannies we have come with the shift linkage and driveshaft.. all you need the ring/pinion gears. Sorry no DCCD equipped units at this time.
Benjamin Tang - Sure shipping to Canada is no problem and PayPal is fine as well :)
rexorama - There are better technical explanations in the tranny forum, but basically for the most simple swap.. all you need besides what we're providing is the ring/pinion gear for the stock rear diff. DCCD is a special type of center differential that allows the driver to control the amount of front/rear bias... we don't usually offer these type of transmissions as there are a lot of parts needed for to properly retrofit a standard WRX which makes the expense not so cost-effective.
Thanks

rexorama 05-06-2004, 06:31 PM I searched that forum and mostly what I come up with is "do a search"
I'm not interested in DCCD, just want the stronger tranny. It's a future upgrade. I'm just looking at prices and such to plan it all out. Thanks for the info.
PHATsuby 05-08-2004, 12:24 PM Max-can you do me a HUGE favor and measure the max height of the tranny at the bell housing?
i am trying to figure out if i will be able to do this with my car on jack stands if the tranny will fit under.
thanks a lot!
Ben
Gruppe-S 05-10-2004, 09:43 PM PHATsuby - It's aboot 16 inches top to bottom :)
