I have a Stage 2 set up on my 2002 WRX Automatic. i have the uppipe, downpipe, removed resonator. I put a stage 2 TurboXS UNICHIP in my car (I got it real cheap) and my stock boost guage reads between 1.1 and 1.2 at max boost. Is this too much? Also, When i give it about half throttle the boost jumps up to the max. Is that ok as llong as I am careful not to do that much? Thanks in advance.

1.2 bars = 17.4 psi thus too much. I'd shoot for 1.1 and maybe max at 1.14 bars = 16.5 psi. However if you're not getting a CEL then you should be fine.

i thought that full boost at half throttle was very bad???

You'll get that w/ MBCs ... mine wasn't that bad though.

If you get full boost at partial throttle, it might be a good idea to either back off the throttle til the boost goes below 10psi or push the throttle past 60%.

If you look at a TDO4 13G compressor map, you'll see at 5k rpms and 17psi it's only flowing 344cfm's, which is in the 70% of it's efficiency island. That's plenty fine. What about the remaining rpm range? The turbo is going to fall off on it's own will anyway. It can't keep up with the flow of the WRX 2.0L in the upper rpm range.
I say you're fine.
Here's a 13G comp map and a formula
http://www.stealth316.com/images/td04-13g-cfm.gif
CFM = L x RPM x VE x Pr
5660
Pr = 14.7 + Boost
