If knock happens while the ecu is in control of the timing will the UTEC pull timing based on the ECUs timing value? If so, will it also do it with map 0?

The reason I ask is because I plan on getting a reflash and using my utec for logging and tweaking for race gas. I want to set up a map to use the ECU values for boost, timing and fuel and just leverage the knock correction.

Unless the UTEC is in control of timing, it won't do anything to stop knock.

I'm not even sure if the UTEC will flash the check engine light for a knock event if it's not currently in control of timing...
