Hey all,

I have to say my first installfest was pretty cool. It was nice to finally meet you peeps, check out your cars, and get advice. I've posted some picts on my site at the following URL: http://www.hopups.com/events/installfest5_26

They didn't come out that great, next time I'll try harder http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

I've got a whole bunch to go up too (including the cops http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif), but the DSL gods are angry at me right now.

Until I place my dsl modem in a chalk pentagram, light a few candles, sacrifice a chicken and stumble through some latin, those pics are going nowhere.

Of course it's probably simpler to just get rid of pacbell (at least northpoint gave a couple of days notice!) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif

Heh, Yeah, I don't know WHAT happened this morning but the server took a major dump. I fiddled around with things (nothing you'd think would fix it) and it magically started working again.

beatEVO-

I think there were probably about 20 or so. More then I expected, and enough to get a complaint from the neighbors http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

It looked like this when I got there (about 1).

Sorry about the image size, but I've not had time to chop things yet. More coming soonish.

That is Percilla's car (Randy's GF) The rims are 17" Speedlines.

Lucky for us the cops weren't jerks. Many of the cars had "obvious" illegal parts on them and he just pointed them out and said that we should change them so as to not get a ticket in the future. (mainly clear corners and such.) Remember this IS Fremont. We actually got complements on our cars.

Illegal parts, LOL. You should have told him that it is illegal to be mental and to be a cop at the same time. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

Alex,

You know that in California, EVERYTHING is illegal in the eyes of the cops and Courts unless it came from the factory stock. That's why I'm looking to register my Suby in Nevada. Got to see if I can get a license too.

Back to what the cop had to say.....
The two main things that was discussed was the front clear corners needed a DOT stamp with side orange reflector, and my front license plate cover. It seems that the cover will effectively blur the license plate on those intersection cameras and speed traps (i.e. making it impossible for them to track down the car http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif )

Side note: Still have the front cover on. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif

Cheers

It's BS. Those front covers have shown to have no appreciable blurring effect on those things. I saw it on a show. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif even the ones DESIGNED to defeat red-light cameras are total BS.

hey thats a nice front lip! What kind is that? Also those are your stock side skirts right? How does the paint hold up on those plastic side skirts? Did you get it done professionally or did you use car spray paint? i want to paint mine. Car is all white and then big black things on bottom.

Spike,

Those are stock 99 2.5RS rims.

IIRC, that was pbnj's car.

Edit: Heh, cool, you even went out on the cross street to take a pic of my car. Wasn't a great place to tear apart the interior, but the ice cream man stopped right by me http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

AC Gohan,

The front lip is a Ver5/6 FHI. Randy's neibor painted the parts. He has a booth and all the equipment that a body shop has. (he also airbrushes helmets) I'm planning on getting my sides and rear spats done by him in the near future.

Cheers
