Is this safe??? Okay for car ???

Supposed to be bad for the wheel bearings if I remember right. I think small ones should be ok, but still wear a little more then stock.

They are safe until your wheel bearings fall apart http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif They move the weight out to a place where it is not designed to be. They may solve some rubbing problems, but the change in the geometry and load bearing (no pun intended) characteristics aren't worth it IMO. Also, the larger the spacers, the larger the potential problem.

So would using 25-35 offset wheels instead of 55 have the same effect on the wheel bearings as using a 20-30mm spacer?

I'm no expert on this, but I think it would be the same, and an equally bad idea.
