Has anyone done this? I have a MY99 Impreza RS and I'd like to install cruise control in it. I see that it's advertised on Subaruparts.com for $218. Is this something I could install myself or does it require the tools/expertise of a dealership (esp given warrenty issues and such). Also I remember seeing somewhere that it was a "port-installed" option. Does that mean a dealership wouldn't be able to install it regardless? Any input would be appreciated! Also if there is anyone who doesn't use theirs (I remember reading a post where someone said this), maybe they'd like to sell it? Any input would be appreciated, thanks! http://geocities.com/r337m0nk3y/net/imu2.gif

I think Teague's Auto has it for less than $100, and Dale would let you know anything you needed to install it.

Sammy,

I installed my cruise in my '98RS and it was fairly easy. The only thing you might take a look at is the cruise control uses the vacum pressure created in the intake manifold. On the intake manifold on the passenger side, you will see a little aluminum bolt that is sticking out of the manifold pipe. When I took this screw out I stripped the head on the bolt. I took it to the local Subaru dealer and they took it out for me. Other than this small porblem, everything went smoothly. It took about 2 hrs. to complete. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Good Luck,

My cruise control was removed when TAD installed my Minnam Turbo. I'll sell it for $180 o.b.o. including shipping.
