We now have the brand new Crucial Racing Systems radiator cap. Here is there press release.

Crucial Racing Systems is proud to announce the newest addition to its product line.

Running a Crucial Racing Systems higher pressure radiator cap on your cooling system helps keep the temperature down on the entire system. Raising the boiling point of the coolant is important during hot operating conditions like when running the air conditioning, while climbing hills, long road trips, bumper to bumper traffic, and high performance track or strip driving. It's especially helpful if you live in a warm climate.

Also, EJ20 powered vehicles tend to experience water pump cavitation at around 6700 rpm at stock pressure. The higher-pressure rating will help reduce the risk of cavitation.

Price is $33
Package with Crucial thermostat $100

Given the problems people have had with the 1.3bar STI caps, this isn't recommended for stock radiators, correct?

We've had the thermostat installed on a two stock vehicles for over nine months with no issues at all. The pressure of 1.4 bar was chosen based upon a bit of research we had done and feel 1.4 bar is optimal.

If you look at any radiator cap, STi included, you'll notice the pressure is determined by a spring. It's hard to perfectly calibrate the spring's pressure, so any radiator cap you buy will have a pressure range of plus or minus 20%. On average, the pressures tend to run on the low side.

A 1.3 bar radiator cap should run between 22.6 psi and 15.0 psi for an average of 18.8 psi. A 1.4 bar radiator cap will run between 24.36 psi and 16.0 psi for an average of 20.2 psi. The difference in the average pressures of the two radiator caps is 1.4 psi.

While we could have easily offered a 1.3 bar cap, we feel the 1.4 bar cap is best.

It's good to hear that you guys actually ran the Crucial radiator cap on 2 stock vehicles. I assume they were WRX's?

Would you mind telling us how the cars were driven? Are they just daily drivers, tracked and/or auto-x? If the cars are only daily drivers, isn't the benefit of a higher pressure radiator cap diminished or even eliminated?

Please don't take my questions in a negative way. I'm just trying to understand because I want to make sure your product is right for me. By the way, I do have the Crucial thermostat, along with Samco radiator hoses and the stock radiator, installed on my wagon.

Thanks and Regards!

One car (bot were WRXs) were a daily driver (stage 4) and the other was a drag racer.
