I blew my tranny and I can;t find a used one anywhere, I have my mechanic looking for a used 98RS tranny all over. Since there is no way I'm going to SUBARU and spending a fortune on a new one, used is my only option unless some fellow I-club member know where I can get aperformance one for under $3000 and so it will fit the 98RS cause from what I hear the 98 tranny is different from the 99 and up. Who knows how long it will take for a used 98 RS tranny to show up. I dont know what to do anymore, I think I wanna cry. I miss my car. I want my car. HELP! what to do....

Do we assume it's manual?

Try some of the sites on www.copartfinder.com (http://www.copartfinder.com) - they might have them laying around that you can get for even less then that.

Thanx man, I just checked the COPARTFINDER.com and there is nothing for the 98RS. Thanx anyway. I'll check everything, I;m kinda getting desperate here.

You might also want to check with Dale Teague at Teague's Auto. He usually has used engines and stuff, maybe he can find a tranny for you.

You might want to try F&S Auto Parts in Connecticut - http://www.fsautoparts.com/

They bill themselves as New England's largest supplier of used Subaru parts.

They have many wrecked Subarus, including a couple of 2.5RSs, a Legacy Turbo and several GTs. They specialize in Subarus and British cars (go figure) and have an impressive inventory of used parts. Check them out!
