View Full Version : Northern CA I-club vs. Southern CA I-club event planning need some help....
MPREZYA 02-22-2000, 08:41 PM Yup you guys have heard it right. Me and Alex are planning on staging our own little civil war. We are looking at planning it for the weekend of the SEMA show near the end of march by attending the show and then trying to organize a subbie only autoX. I will post more info as it becomes available an hopefully it is enough time for all of you to get together and come down here for our own best of the west meet. So if any of you can help with planning setting up hotel group rates and other items (I am hoping to have some trophys for winners as well as maybe get a few sponsors and since we hopefully can get both TMR and Shiv together for some nice press coverage). If you can help please post here or e-mail me (us2only@msn.com) or heck even ICQ me (MPREZYA #56310340). This has the potential for a great meeting of North vs. South so hopefully we can all get together on this.
Thanks,
Rich

MPREZYA 02-22-2000, 11:03 PM I will post them by tommorrow. Alex is working on getting SPO and SPD in on this as well as we are working on hotel rooms withsome of the local guys trying to get you all group discounts for them. We are also going to see about an autoX in that area and what is needed to do it.
I will go find the dates and post them.

ravent 02-23-2000, 07:39 PM The autox groups would have a North/South
get together in Santa Maria, at their airport. Events like this take much coordination, insurance, etcetera.
The SEMA show would be a good deal w/time at the "Speed Zone" (arcade, go-karts, 1/8 mile
dragster) and maybe a picnic/ concours will be a lot to organize by itself... If there is already an auto-x planned we could go to,
that seems like more than enough. Us northern boys will have to drive down and back which will take another 8-10 hours of our time. I'm in...lets email every aftermarket rep on the list for sponsorship
and have a raffle for prizes. For $2 you get a ticket to win something with the proceeds to pay for food/drink/List maintenance or a money prize for concours winner
MPREZYA 02-23-2000, 10:51 PM Well guys looks liek the hotel situation could be taken care of soon all I need is a
rough estimate of how many would be able to make it(Sev and Alex I know you two will but post anyways please and no apple pies unless you share Sev). I am hoping for 10-15 from Northern CA (Heck I may even go visit up there and then caravan back with you guys as I am from Sacramento). So if you are possibly going to be able to make it please post in my other topic.
Thanks
Rich
MPREZYA 02-24-2000, 01:17 AM Guys this is another SEMA show meeting along with an sutoX if we can get everything planned right. I have people working on getting group discounts for hotel rooms as well as a place to do the autoX (we may have to use the old primative stopwatch but heck it will still be fun hehe http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/smile.gif ). If we can't have our own we will see if hollywood park or qualcomm(San Diego) is having one that weekend and plan for such. Myself and Alex will also work on trophies (ala: bent valve like the east coasters and even a few Booby trophies for various classes fo things) and prizes (various stuff). If any of you can help Alex with planning on what day you're all coming down would be great so we can plan for hotel rooms also I need to get a rough idea of how many will attend (I am guessing 10-15 unless that many of you want to come down). Next one of these is you're turn planning and hopefully we will have more time and maybe run at an actual course like Laguna Seca and Buttonwillow. Remember this is being planned on short notice for the autoX but there will still be the SEMA show at Pomona Raceway. If you are going please post so we can work on the hotel rooms. Also if you have any questions or any way you can help out feel free to e-mail me or ICQ me(Sev just don't go crazy).
