Anyone notice this? I'm sure that's the way it is in the rally cars too, but I find myself just about stepping on the brake, when I really want to push in the clutch. Maybe I have extra large feethttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif There are a size 12. Just curious that's all.

The pedals are no problem for my 7 1/2 shoesies. BTW, just by dumb luck, I found a pair of almost new Specialized mountain bike lo-cut shoes in my closet. with the stiff sole and the gnarly treading they are the best driving shoes I've tried. They're tight, firm, have great feel and are light and breathable to boot.

You're right...
When I test drove the rex as well, I thought they were closer to each other than the RS...
I'm also a size 12...oh well.....

I have size 9 feet, and I find them too far apart!! By about 1\2 an inch between the clutch and brake.....I drive very much heel-toe though, and my previous cars were all built for heel-toe driving http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

As far as I can tell, the WRX uses the same pedal box from the RS, Legacy GT, Outback, etc. This design looks to be unchanged for hydraulic clutch models since at least 1998.

Also, the pedal covers on the WRX should fit non-WRX pedals. The tricky part would be trying to press the aluminum accelerator pedal tabs around the plastic pedal base. The clutch and brake pedal covers look like they will peel off like a normal rubber pedal cover. I have not verified this personally, for fear of damaging any one of my friends' WRX'.

I don't have too many problems, the only thing I do is sometimes rev the engine when I press the brake

I have size 13 feet http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif and no problems with my smaller shoes. There are a pair of sneaker I have where I sometimes hit brake and gas but I'm used to driving in them now.

Nope, You get use to a proper pedal layout in a hurry.

IMHO, there really is no such thing as the pedals being to close on a performance car. Especially on a rally setup car where heel toe driving is essential. If any pedal on a car needs to be adjusted or moved, it should be the clutch pedal, moved a little outside so it doesnt interfere with any sort of left foot braking. Otherwise, teh closer the better for me.

This is a bit off topic but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

The stock Scooby pedal are really small, I like that. BUT are there any cool looking aftermarket pedals (Like the WRX or STi type) that arent super expensive and are also small? All of the ones I see at the local speed shops are huge! And now I'm scared to just order a set without seeing them first.

Tats.

I agree, pedals are a little close. I have no problem in sneakers, but when i wear my big steel toe mountain boots i end up grabbing a little gas or clutch every time i go to brake. I dont know? if I ajust the seat im fine, but scotched forward i have this problem: goddamn rear passengers who think they need leg room!http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif
