Hi, everyone.
I just installed a Weapon-R FPR this afternoon. After the installation, I took it to a test drive. Later I was going to buy some food, but when I started the car, the "Check Engin" light came on.
Does anyone know what is the problem and how to fix it? Also what are your fuel pressure settings? I set mine at 40psi of pressure.

Thanks very much.

Did you check your stock fuel pressure before dialing in the new one. If I remember one of shiv's posts correctly, sotck pressure is greater than 40psi.

Make sure that you don't have any vaccum hoses upplugged right by the FPR. That's what I had.

Here is a dump question. I never seen anyone with the FPR. I installed with a friend. How do I know if I installed right? And how do I reset the ECU? http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/frown.gif
What fuel pressure should I set?

Thanks guys

You should have FPR and a fuel rail adapter. Put in the adapter in place and run the hose from it to the bottom nipple on the FPR. Connect the other end of the fuel line to the other nipple and connect the vaccum line to the small FPR nipple.

Well this topic has been dead for 5 months but if you read this I hope it helps. The stock boost is 45psi, you should set the fpr to 50-52psi.

The check engine light has been a problem with almost any modification added to the subbie.

To clear the ecu disconnect the battery for 40 minutes.

There is an easier way to clear an ECU on a Subaru. Open the hood and take the lid off of your fuse box. Remove the one large 50 amp and two smaller 30 amp fuses ( they are toward the front of the fuse box) Let is sit for 5 minutes and your done. This way you don't have to re-set your clock and your stereo and your alarm.

I think we decided that the stock FPR maintains a ~44 psi (3 atmosphere) difference across the injectors, so at idle you should get something less than 44 psi in the way of fuel pressure, right?

ECU resets don't clear codes. I tried in vain to clear one by resetting the ECU, then gave up. It disappeared the next day and hasn't returned. Codes are of two types, self-clearing and the kind which can only be cleared with a Select Tool. Ask Rao for more details. You can only hope that the ECU sets new baselines which "fix" the problem when it does the next self-diagnostic.

ARG - Do you have an O2 voltage meter or some other way to verify that this procedure works? 5 minutes is a lot shorter than half an hour.

check to make sure the vacumm hose going to the fpr and throttle body is tight. also it sounds stupid but make sure the gas cap is on tight :P

The "CHECK ENGIN" light is different from the "CHECK ENGINE" light. Your velocity packs may have let go....
