I guess that covers it.
I have seen the clearcoat stuff...but do they make it in a tint or smoke?

the only place I've seen colored film for headlights is here:

http://www.lamin-x.com/

From a 3M Scotchgard FAQ page: http://cms.3m.com/cms/US/en/2-168/ckukRFO/view.jhtml#maintenance

Q. Does Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film come in colors?
A. Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is available only as a clear film. This feature makes the film virtually invisible while protecting the beauty of your vehicle.

Check with Chad @ Rockblocker.com (http://www.rockblocker.com). He's got smoked headlight protectors I believe. He's a vendor on Nasioc, and I highly recommend him. :)

I just put the blue tinted film (lamin-x) on my fog lights and am very satisfied, I am considering getting them for my head lights as well. Rockblocker was very cheap and shipped very fast, highly recommended.
