What's the most cost effective way to lower a MY00 2.5RS without sacrificing the car's handling? Of course, if there are springs/etc that will do the job while improving handling, that's even better. =) And what's the safe maximum for lowering the RS, while maintaining most of the driveability (as in, not bottoming out on speedbumps, etc). If you have experience with a particular supplier, please give me their info (website, prices) as well. Thanks.

how much drop are you talking??

if you want an inch or so you can get any of the sport springs that autocare subaru sell (h&r, eibach, 5zeigen ect). but if the springs are going to change you should swap out the struts too.. i've heard the stock struts can barely dampen the stock springs.

you may want to consider adjustable coil overs.. ground control.

I dont see the point in lowering the RS, its not that kind of car. Im against lowering cars I think its dumb, yes maybe the inch or so from the version V suspension, thats ok, but dropping a car may look good, but the functionability, (hmm functionability is that a word?) of the car suffers greatly.

Just my opinion.

I'm talking about a 1 inch drop max, no more than that.. I just want to fill that gap in the wheel well. =) So springs + struts would do the trick? Which brand is most widely used by people here?

I got a 1.18" drop with KYB AGX struts and Tein S-Tech springs for $625 from JC Sports. I am very happy with the looks and handling both!

With the adjustable rear struts set for 5 out of 8, and the front struts set for 2-3 out of 4 - the handling is phenomenal! Like a go-cart, yet usable on the street (2f/5r is better for street). No bottoming out on dips yet.

I did have some minor rubbing of my Bridgestone RE730's in the rear (when the struts were set for only 3 out of 8 during break-in), but only in hard cornering while encountering a dip in the road. Moving the struts to 5 out of 8 solved it without sacrificing ride quality. Setting the front to 3 is about as hard as I would go for the street, and a 2 in the front is better for everyday driving.

I will try to post a photo of it lowered soon at my website. My laptop stopped reading CF memory cards in my PC card slot after I installed a new ethernet card, and I can't get the photo transfered into my computer.

The 30mm drop is with a performance spring that will over work the stock struts, so don't do them without the KYG AGX struts.

Here's what the KYB/AGX's with Tein S-Tech's look like on a 2000 RS:
