I'm assisting Alex Anastasiou with a set of instructions for installing the Jumptronix meter in an RS. I'm looking for some help with wire colors and would really appreciate any corrections or additional information.
Currently I have the following:

1998 RS - ECU has only one large plug, B84
<u>Ignition Power</u>: B84#2 YELLOW/GREEN, or B84#1 GREEN
<u>O₂ Sensor</u>: B84#23 YELLOW/BLUE
<u>Ground</u>: B84#17 BLACK/RED or B84#16 BLACK

1999 RS - 3-plug ECU. The bottom plug is B134 (blue), the middle plug is B135 (orange) and the top plug is B136 (green).
<u>Ignition Power</u>: B135#7 GREEN/RED
<u>O₂ Sensor (front)</u>: B136#7 YELLOW/BLUE
<u>Ground</u>: unknown but not B136#20 (black), might be B134#35 (black) or B134#27 (black).

2000 RS - 3 plug ECU a la '99
<u>Ignition Power</u>: B135#7 GREEN/RED?
<u>O₂ Sensor (rear)</u>: B136#18 color unknown
<u>Ground</u>: unclear but probably B136#16 [color unknown but might be light green]

FWIW, when I installed the Jumptronix in my MY98, I had to ground the unit to one of the bolts holding down the ECU and cover plate. I originally hooked it into one of the ground wires, but it seems to be sensitive to any type of noise/interference. Once I hooked it to the bolt, no problems since.

On my 99, i spliced the jumptronix ground into my sfc ground which is grounded to the bolt in front of the SRS computer.

Ownly - would it be too much to ask you to expose your ECU and check? I would appreciate it very much if you could verify the colors on both the ignition and O2 lead.

i will since i need to install my fuel controller, i just got my car back BTW and that JC cat-back is sweet as hell and on a 2000 with and open intake i'm not even running lean vival el MAP sensor ...

Bret: for the MY99 the grounding wire is B134 #35 or (same plug) #23. I don't remember which actually, heh, but it was black.

delectron - B134#35 is the ground for the front O₂ sensor heater, right? I wondered if that same ground was used for the open-loop circuit, but I decided against it since it seemed to me that that might make the car run oddly when the O₂ sensor heater was on. What is B134#23?

On my 98 power is pin#2 (only), color=Yellow w/ green stripe. Car's DOB: 11/97

I used pin 17 for ground. I had a line tester to check it. That's how i found the rpm on my 98 too- it's blue on mine, not red. but the pin locs were all the same.

I just uninstalled my Field SFC and installed the Apexi S-AFC in my MY98. Don't get hung up on wire colors -- use the diagram. FWIW, on my 4/98 RS, I used the ignition power (1G) to supply power to the AFC (wire #85). 16 and 17 are grounds, and both are black with red stripe.

Thanks for all who helped with the TPS (wire #5) on the 98! It's all working.

Ownly - how is your install coming?

Giulio - I have a nice digital voltmeter but I'm not very good at using it - how can I determine the grounds? When I try to test for grounds all the wires look like they have continuity to the chassis. It was easier with my old cheapo analog meter.

I installed my SAFC as per the instructions for "American Market Vehicles" that came with the unit.
In their diagram they say to use 94 as ground. On my (MY98) I tried using 16 (of 16 or 17) first and it didn't work. Are there that many differences within the same model year? Needless to say, I'm (apparently) functional with the Brown and Black wires tapped into #94. Has anyone else noticed this?
