Alright, i did some unconventional tuning today. After months of theorizing, me and my shop forman came up w/ a couple methods of tuning without a dyno or a wideband o2 sensor.
Unfortunatly there is no "hardcore" evidence of improvement, but the feel and runability is leaps and bounds above how ive been driving it.
My main problem is the fact that the car ran soo bad cold. By the time the computer got started up it would be warm.
These are the methods we used:
1. Ran actual fuel injector cleaner. These ej22t injectors are old, so they could probably benefit from it.
2. Disable o2 sensors, to force the ECU to run as if its cold. It is now unable to trim any fuel, so it HAS to run the fuel ratio my Emanage tells it to.
3. Connect Snapon OBD2 scan tool to watch Timing advance, as well as confirm no Fuel Trim. (plus clear CEL from o2 sensors)
4. Connect to Exhaust Gas Analyzer. This will show efficient burns. Combined w/ my EGT guage this lets me know if im too rich or lean.

With the car on the rack, I found that I have been running approx 7% too rich at idle. This minor detail really changed my idleabiltiy.
(as well as the injector flush)
Since we dont have a dyno to induce a load, I could only tune low RPM's on the Rack. After that I took the car out. I found that I had it pretty well tuned at WOT. I simply richened it just a bit, and raised boost from 9.5 to 12psi. :eek:
As of right now, I hear no signs of predetonation. It took about 5 hours, and runs alot better. I am also running a full tank of gas with a very effective valve deposit cleaner.
