View Full Version : Do they still rally busses in africa?

I remember once watching a safari rally (paris dakar?) on tv and they had a bus class.... do they still do this. I searched the net and couldnt find anything. Can anyone help? Thanks

Yeah there is a truck class in the paris dakar rally & they carry three: Driver, Passenger, & Mechanic.

What I wouldn't give to see the Partridge Family bus executing a pendulum turn...now that's entertainment!

Better yet, how about Madden's infamous bus? :banana:

Thanks, does anyone know where I can find out more information? I searched under busses and vans and diddnt come up with anything usefull, but I'll try trucks.

they dont race busses and vans, they race the service trucks

I watched Dakar last year on Speed - jesus they had some history on those monsters. 1000+ hp 4wd - I believe they put some limits on them because they were beginning to dominate - and there were a few deadly accidents. They had some old video of one of these busses passing a WRC car on a flat stretch of dessert, truly amazing.
