well done..that couldv've been a paint sharing car.

An amateur would have jerked the wheel off course and then it would've got nasty.

Seems to be a video of about 4-5 corners up at Road America, with one minor off-road excursion.

I'd like to see the puckercam before I'd agree.

Hugely early apex. You turned in BEFORE the last braking marker. That's always a pretty good indication...;)

you can also tell where the line is by the rubber marks on the track.

I agree with Gary... majorly early apex on that turn (rather than "late apex" as indicated in the captioning of the video).

But... good save as others commented.

It appears the video camera was being held by a passenger in the back seat.

I agree it is a major early apex, but the "late apex" in the video means the corner is expecting a late apex, the next caption "may be next time" as I obviously missed it while heading towards the wall.

The camera is attached to the side of the helmet. its a Sony bullet camera.

I basically screwed up this corner on this lap, I took the correct line the other 40 times. the video is just showing the fun I had on this lap.

Key to not putting it into the wall was not panicking. Nice save.

Thanks, had to turn into the wall initially to get the car to track straight before teesing it back away from the wall to the black stuff.

Got it, wrx2002. Didn't mean to sound critical. I think it's great that you shared it here. Anyone who tracks a car has done it. And, it's good for others to see it.

Cool camera view. Where did you get the camera? And, how did you attach it to your helmet?

I love the "helmet cam" shots they're showing in IRL races now. From INSIDE the helmet. You become the eyes of the driver. Very cool.

I have a Sony MinDV camera mounted in the trunk with 2 Sony bullet cameras that run through a switch near the DCCD controller on the center console. The switch switches between cameras that feed the recorder. So I can change views while driving.

The camera package is from http://www.jonescam.tv/

the camera mount is from http://helmetcamera.com/products.htm

Its Velcroed to the helmet using industrial velcro. I also use the velcro to mount the camera in the foot well for the foot action or under the car for suspension shots or use suction cap camera mounts for other parts of the car.

Hope that helps.
