Hey I-Clubbers,
Well I'm about to order a roof vent and roof scoop from Primitive and I'm just checking to make sure that I need the vent in order the put the scoop on my car. I own a 93 Impreza L-Sedan with nothing on my roof. So will I need both of these to be complete or what? I don't want to waste money on a part I don't end up using if you know what I mean.

Depends on whether you want the scoop to work or not.
If you just want the scoop for looks, you can glue it up on the roof without the vent.
If you want it to work, i.e., actually allow air to come into the cabin, you have to get the vent.
From the Primitive website (http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/skid.htm) :
Works in conjunction with the roof vent described below. Made for real rally cars, as a sunroof cannot be operated with this scoop installed (without modifications). But if you're just after that snappy rally-car look, just install the scoop by itself, without cutting a hole in the roof.

This is actually something that's been banging around in my head.. It says it can't be used with a sunroof (WITHOUT MODIFICATION).. I wonder how complex it is to integrate it into a sunroof. It doesn't seem to me like it would be too hard.. although I could see it leaking in the future. Anybody put one of these into the sunroof?

I think the roof vent is what the WRX's need to substitue in for a sunroof, nice, small, so it won't interfere structural-integrity-wise and will still allow for a little scalp-burning action in the summer. i wonder how much getting a roof vent hole cut would cost...not to mention, chopping a new, beautiful car, the mental anguish involved

Naw, I plan on using the vent. I don't want to be a poser who just has it on his/her car to look cool, I really want it to work! Thanks for the info guys!
