Anyone know? Would be nice if at least the pistons were forged. I can understand PM rods and nodular cranks, but pistons in a turbo engine better be forged. Thanks.

Pistons in the twin turbo Supra are not forged and they can handle over 600rwhp w/total reliability....I think we'll be fine http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

Can't compare Supra pistons to WRX pistons, because they aren't the same. Just because Toyota designed the cast pistons in thier engine to withstand that much power, it doesn't mean Subaru or Fuji Heavy Industries did. Don't make assumptions, assumptions will always turn around a bite you.

So, anyone know if they are forged, or hypereutectic, or cast?

I am reasonably certain they are cast, but I do not know if they are high silicon or not.

Nodular iron crank? I hope not. I'd be more concerned about not having a forged crank than I would be the pistons.
I posted this question in another forum here and was told the crank was forged but the pistons cast.
Is there a way to get this information from Subaru?
