My front speakers play fine (stock) with the head (Clarion DXZ615). I have had this for a few years now. I am expanding things, and I added a Digital Signal Processor to the head (less that $50.00 on ebay, built in 7 band EQ and crossover, so WTH). When I plug it in (2 RCA's and 1 special cable, multi pin thing) everything powers up, system check is fine, but the front speakers won't gain volume. They work at a constant low level volume no matter what you do withthe volume, ballance, fade ect, while the rear speakers react how you would think that they would with control changes.

What should I be looking at? I have a questionable ground at the DSP. Would this make any difference? Right now I have just the DSP withteh Clarion head and the 4 stock speakers. I suck messing around with electronics so I was going to do one thing at a time so it is easier to track down problems. This one has me lost.

I have an amp coming in the next few days. I am planning on checking the head and DSP outputs with it to see which 4v RCA outputs might be having problems. Hopefully there is something stupid that I missed and this is acedemic.

Thanks,

Greg

How exactly do you have this wired?

Is the clarion feeding a low level signal to the processor, and then it goes to the speakers? Does the processor even have a built in amp?

Its weird. The two units are designed for each other. When the DSP is plugged into the source, a bunch of new menus appear. Somewhere when connecting the two, some things get changed. The signal goes from the source to the processor through the multipin connector (CeNet cable), then the processor has 4V RCA outputs that go to the amps (F, R and Sub). Or, this is the weird part, if you are using the source's "amp" you plug the processor back into the source outputs, that must now be inputs with the processor connected. Its how it shows it in the manual, I don't know how it does it. I only have the F and R connected, Sub channel is "empty".

Thanks,

Greg

Is the Processor a Clarion and do you have an exact model number for it?
