well, I realized what the major draw back to the JC Sports intake was... this thing sucks in some major hot air. This dawned on me the other night when I was looking at it with the car on and the radiator fan turned on. Started blowing hot air right at the cone filter. Not a good thing. So i got the "bug" and started thinking about what I could do. So I broke down and created the good ol' cardboard/aluminum foil cold airbox <GRiN>.
Huge difference. Before- the intake tube we be very hot to the touch (for obvious reasons) but now the difference is night and day. Now if I can just find something that looks more clean... perhaps a heat resistive plastic I could bend into shape?

You can take any pvc/abs pipe, heat/warm it up and bend it. Slight bends are easy, but
more acute angles should be done a few degrees at a time or you will collapse the pipe. You can use a propane torch or even a strong heating pad, but be careful and maybe practise once on a piece that will not be used...the pipe will burn and the fumes are probably listed on a cancerus list.

Speaking of that...

Randy, you gotta see the Crawford Intake Mk II. It rocks. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
