Ok, I was just wondering if all wires are suppose to be connected in an STI or any other vehicle. I noticed on the drivers side above where your left foot would be if you were driving, there are a couple of wires that aren't connected. There's a male and female green connector that isn't connected. Are they supposed to be. Can anyone tell me what is it for? ( It's the only green one there ). The black one is tough because there's alot of them. I saw one that isn't connected. Definately to vague for you to help me on the black one. The reason why I noticed is because my boost guage illumination isn't working all the time. Sometimes it blinks or it's not on. It still reads the the correct boost though.

The cables I described to you is probably irrevalent to the boost guage, I'm assuming because they are completely disconneced. I don't know my wiring at all.

There should be at least one connector (probably that green one), that is meant to stay that way. Afaik, that has to do with some diagnostic or pre-delivery inspection.

There are others that should be hidden. There's one for the optional column mounted boost gauge.

Regarding your boost gauge light, the easy way is to run through the wiring and see where any possible intermittent connection could occur. It may be as simple as the connector or the pin inside the connector not getting a good contact. A multimeter would help troubleshoot this.

I'll definately try to run through the wiring to see if there is a loose connection. Hopefully , I'll find something.

Satrya, I ran through the wiring from the boost guage to the end and found nothing unusual. That kind of sucked because I took of the large plastic panel of the coin tray, steering wheel column lower panel, and the oval plastic panel that went around the cluster gauges. :( All to find out that I just needed to replace the BULB! :( Oh well, I definately learned something today.:)

Thankyou for the reply.

Oh. Sorry about that. It hadn't occurred to me to suggest checking the bulb because small wattage bulbs like that normally last quite long, and that loose connections seem to be more likely. At least you resolved the problem.

Super...Neo:

I also just saw`that on my '05 today. So is it for a diagnostic tool? I don't think so but I'll confirm with the dealer next week.

In fact I took a picture of it to post until I found your topic.

ANyone else know if this should be connected? There is only one terminal on it (1 wire).

That's the green thing I was talking about.
Definately, I will keep an eye out for the answer.
