Hey all, I just installed an aftermarket cd player into my 1995 legacy brighton wagon and I'm looking for ideas on how to get speakers into the rear of my car. As a college student I'm constantly driving around with people in the back... and sometimes way back ;) anyway my old and busted tape deck and front speakers were constantly the butt of many jokes. This summer I'm getting things up to par but trying not to bust the bank. So far I've got the sail pod tweeter upgrade and a no frills cd deck with line out capabilities. So my main question for the wise ones here is have any of you installed speakers into the back of a wagon(93 to 99)?
I have yet to remove the rear door panels to check for pre existing wiring but it seems that there are rear speaker wires at the OEM harness and I can feel some in the rubber tube connecting the door to the frame. Also there are no punchouts in the door frame so any help on how to properly cut and adhere the new speaker enclosures.
I would love any other speaker location ideas... I've seen some awesome pictures of subs in the rear and there is a high likelyhood I can get my hands on one. I'll have to find a good spot for the amp too that is out of the way but doesn't take up the spare tire spot. I've also looked at the OEM under the seat amp/sub but have no idea about wiring or if it is worth the cash.
Thanks for the help in advance... and don't forget this is for a good cause. We can't let those youngin's bad mouth subaru!:D
