Ok, I'm paying off my 2000 RS at an alarming rate, and at first I was seriously considering trading up for a WRX in '02. However, now I am starting to get used to my little coupe... but I still want the "turbo power". So here's my question. What is generally considered the most developed turbo kit for the RS, and where do you get it?

I've heard a lot about Minnam, but can't seem to located any other info. I hear prices in the range of $2500-$6000. What can I expect to pay for a reliable (snicker) turbo that ups output to the 200-240hp range? What special electronics are required? Extra injectors? Uprated injectors and/or fuel pump+reg? Are the kits that are available complete? Or is "rigging" required. I'm trying to go for a sleeper look (if that is possible for an RS... it looks much faster than it is.....). Anyhoo, thanks.

I got the JC Sports IHI turbo kit (retail $3,500) last month from www.jcsports.net (http://www.jcsports.net)

It works fairly decently without any electronics and just a fuel pump and rising rate fuel pressure riser. It is even better with an APEXi AFC. And ignition timing control would make it rock and that is my next step.

This kit is good for about 230 hp when properly tuned. You can read about it at mymods page on my website www.ImprezaRS.com (http://www.ImprezaRS.com) - email me or post here with questions.

Well, in addition to what was said about doing a search...

Since you're in PA and (seemingly) have the $$$ http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif try Rallispec. They're in NJ, and from what's been mentioned on this BBS, they produce a reliable turbo package. Their kit is on the more expensive side, but in this case, that's probably a good thing, considering the price includes everything from the turbo to the electronics to installation. Those folks know what they're doing.

Good luck.
