This article I was writing was taking too long to finish due to the rare chances I am able to find time to go out and datalog outside the city late at night. I decided to break it up into parts so that part 1 could get out the door.

Part 1 (http://www.kickflop.net/wp/index.php?p=6&page=1)

Let me know what you think so far.

The next parts will cover further work on the problem areas found in the article on day 1 as well as tweaking with octane booster added to a half tank of gas, etc.

JavaScript + Popups must be allowed to view the large version of the images in the article. If that's a real pain for some reason, let me know.

Good work, IMO. You may want to include the Advance Multiplier in the graph as you mentioned it in logging it the on the road dyno. I would be curious to see the before and after when you tweaked the ignition timing.

Good point. I'll include a comment about it. It was removed from the graph because it was 16 always.

Jaxx: Well, there are a lot of people with reflashes (only). I figured it might be worthwhile to finally have a real guide to what one can do and not do. *shrug*

Nice work, Jeff. I don't even have EcuTek and it was a good read. It's just too bad your thread got rolling with the above gem of constructive criticism. Sheesh.

Jeff, good idea.

However I'd like to see where this is going. Is the point of the guide to help "clean up" the reflash from the tuner? Or will it ultimately be to use the DD to tune around things like environmental conditions and race gas?

Both directions. Any direction that can be taken.
