Hi guys! I had a question about the front LSD that Sti sells. Is it a direct bolt on to our 2.5RS?

I guess I'll mod first things first and start with the Sti/Spt short throw shifter I just got in the mail! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif

Anyways, I'd appreciate it if somebody had an answer to my question.

Hello,

The WRX front diffs do fit the US tranny. However, you need to change a couple things, including the stub axles, according to Trey. Now, "bolt-on" is another question... If tearing apart a transmission is "bolt-on" then you are a vastly superior mechanic than I am http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif I consider tearing the tranny apart about the biggest pain in the butt thing you can do on a car, second to rebuilding an engine, which I just recently finished and will likely never tackle again... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/tongue.gif the time it took me, I could have paid someone and then made the money up working and still had time to spare http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

I would not install a clutch-type mechanical LSD in the front unless you spend a lot of time offroad. A better choice would be a Quaife (torsen). Quaife would also be a good choice for the rear diff, again unless you are rallying. I get the feeling most of us are the tarmac sort. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif
