well, I have spent the past few hours looking over the pages and pages of posts and have gotten very good info.

I am wondering would it be more cost effective to swap in a wrx engine to my 93L wagon, or should I get a bolt on turbo kit for my 1.8.

I know that the bolt up will probably be cheaper but I have heard mixed reviewes about them.

I drove a new wrx and a sti the other day, they were both fun but the sti was just nuts, I want that power (eventually) and that is why I am wondering. but 260 to 280 to the wheels will be plenty for me.

The swap will be more reliable. You'll feel a whole lot more secure. Spend the extra money on that reliability.

the swap...it may be a bit cheaper at first but if you really want the power you stated it will be way cheaper just to do the swap..plus its not that hard.:alien:

check out this site,

and don't forget that ever "project" costs more than planned, unless your a project engineer by trade.

loyal turbos are cheap and are the same as the ones off of ford probes:eek: , i know its crazy , but its true :( ....

i would like to do this just because it would be kind of fun , just to say i did it. and well audi has had a tubo 1.8 for along time, and a lot of honda guys do it too. and the GTi gulf, hhmm probabaly lots more, correct me if i'm wrong but aren't mazda speed(protege , miata) cars 1.8's?? EDIT: almost forgot about buick regals, they even turbo charged carb'ed motors:banana: ...
