I followed the instructions found on www.ravensblade-impreza.com (http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/modifications/interior/harness/harness.html) for the installation, except for the tail belt which just bolts straight to rear driver side seat belt c-pillar attachment point.

I bought it on www.soloracer.com for about $150 + $8.99 for shipping. Took about a week to get from Ohio to Southern California with UPS. [and a long week it was...] :)

Installation only took about 50 minutes, with 20 of them trying to find something that could cut the carpet molding at the base of the b-pillar so i could expose the bolt. [sisscors didn't work, garage cutters didn't work, you need to use a knife or razor blade, well i had to...] Simply remove the bolts, pop in the connector for the harness and bolt everything back up nice and tight (don't want anything coming loose when you're in an accident).

You'll probably have to readjust the seat and your mirrors since you really need to sit up straight when you buckle yourself in. The harness will hold you in your position. [no more slouching you lazy bums... :D] You have to tighten the lap belt first and then the shoulder belts, make sure they're nice and firm but not so much you can't breathe. I didn't get any of the pads so the belts may "rub" against your collar bone (clavicle for you A&P folks) but wrapping a small towel or cloth around that part of the belt could be a temporary fix until you purchase the pads (next month for me, still gotta wait for the next credit card billing cycle...)

Well, give me a week or so to road test this thing and i'll post up my impressions later. :)

Almost forgot... This harness IS DOT APPROVED. :) I was looking around at the prices right before i got it and found a GReddy harness that only cost about $80, but couldn't find anywhere saying it was DOT approved but the Schroth one is.

First of all so far, i've had to adjust my seat to get comfortable with this thing. I've had to lower the seat adjustment (that other lever on the side of the seat) so the seat would "cradle" me a bit more and move the seat forwards about 2 notches since this thing holds you back in the seat. I'm kinda a stickler about people adjusting my seat so that's kind of important to me.

The only other issue so far is that where the straps run under the headrest, they sort of rub against the notches that allow for adjust the height of the headrest which may eventually pose a problem in wearing out the strap, but all i did was wrap some elctrical tape over the notches that are exposed so that woudln't be a problem. I might just get some padding there also to be safe.

As for comfort, the harness does press pretty firmly against your collarbones, but it needs to be firm (not too tight though) in order to be effective.

Driving impressions: well, lets just say i don't worry about sliding around in my seat so i find myself taking corners and whatnot faster than i used to. I can actually concentrate on driving and pushing the car a little further than i'm used to. :)

Just note that while you're wearing it you won't be able to reach down and scratch your foot, or reach the glovebox, or mess with stuff in the back seat. When going in reverse it does prevent you abit from turning around and looking behind you, but if you just unbuckle it you should have enough slack to face backwards to see where you're going.

The only thing now is to pick up some of the padded straps to make it a little more comfortable since i have to commute 35 miles to work and 35 miles home, 5 days a week. :)

You need to pry the cover off. At the break/crease that goes around the seatbelt holder, just slide a flathead screwdriver into the crease and twist to pry it open. You'll see the bolt underneath. :)
